ABOUT US
UKCNRC is a charity set up by the British Paediatric Neurology Association in January 2008. It is registered as a Company at Companies House (Company Number 6474740) and as a Charity with the Charity Commission (Charity Number 1124250).
UKCNRC provides an infra-structure to underpin the UK paediatric neurology network already inherent in the BPNA. It will develop a few vital generic resources able to support a spectrum of projects within our sub-specialty – research coordination, data management, focussed statistical expertise and neurology outcome assessment.
UKCNRC has limited funds available to support research. Such funds are intended for small scale pilot studies as seed for larger studies to be funded by other agencies.
UKCNRC has links with the Medicines for Children Research Network and other networks to provide a coherent environment to support our research aspirations.
The UKCNRC Board comprises Professor Helen Cross (BPNA President ex officio), Dr Rob Forsyth, Professor Colin Kennedy, Dr Richard Newton, Dr Mike Pike, and Professor Galip Akay, our lay supporter. This group constitute the Directors of the Charitable Company.
The Board has delegated the research and development agenda to a Research Support Panel chaired by Professor Colin Kennedy and supported by Dr Richard Chin, Dr Paul Eunson, Dr Vijeya Ganesan, Dr Rachel Kneen, Dr John Livingston, Dr Tim Martland (MCRN Neurosciences ex officio), Dr Finbar O’Callaghan, Dr Rod Scott, Professor Stefano Seri, Dr Evengeline Wassmer and Dr Jane Williams. The Research Support Panel is supported by Dr John Coleman, Research Coordinator.
